The devil is coming

The devil is so real, addiction is a beast! 10 mins after my last post my dealer called took every ounce in my soul not to answer or call back I blocked him after that but in that one second I almost forgot why I wanted to stop …HOW CRAZY IS ADDICTION???

No matter the substance of the addiction, we are surrounded by it - booze, drugs, sex, gambling, all of it. We take steps to protect ourselves, like blocking numbers or taking a different route home. We try to not put ourselves purposely in harm’s way. And we grow our sobriety so that the stimulus loses its salience and strength, so that we can live free of addiction and not constantly struggling against it.

In the AA literature, we read that “we have ceased fighting anything or anyone - even alcohol”. This is not a pie in the sky dream, it is the lived experience of recovered alcoholics. This can happen for you, too.

I highly recommend getting a new phone number to get rid of the parasite dealers.

It might be a little inconvenient for a few days, but not as inconvenient as dealers calling you out the blue to get you hooked back just so they can make a fast buck.
