The five moral restraints

I am going to school to become a yoga instructor after spending the majority of the last 6 years of my life in prison. I have used everything under the sun as a way to block out all of my insecurities and shame, caused by my lack of willingness to participate in a life that always seemed fake to me. Today there is a new freedom and a new happiness in my life that makes perfect sense, and it is through following a code of ethical conduct that I began to live in peace and harmony with my fellows. The fI’ve moral restraints are as follows: Ahimsa, being non-violence. Satya, being truthfulness. Asteya, being non-stealing. Brahmacharya, being moderation. And last but not least, Aparigraha, being non-attachment. I suggest that anyone who is on a quest to finding peace within themselves look no further than that which is within them. Nothing outside of you can make you happy. It is through practicing moral correctedNess that we begin to feel like true human beings, capable of loving ourselves and one another as a result. Love to all sentient beings. Namaste :om:
