Through this journey of recovery there are a few things that i clearly have learnt.
The first one: interpertating sober.
serious, sensible, and solemn.
“a sober view of life”
The second one: interpertating addiction.
the fact or condition of being addicted to a particular substance or activity.
The thrid one: interpertaing recovery.
a return to a normal state of health, mind, or strength.
Now i ask you to ask yourself,
just because someones addiction isn’t the same as yours don’t you think they deserve recovery just as much as you?
Im putting just 2 of my addictions here these are the two I am contuially struggling with, trying to move on from and sometimes daily have to keep myself in check from.
Sex Addiction
PMO
The impluse, need and absoulte risks i put myself through this addiction were brutal…
The need of a photo/vid for personal gratification were consuming.
I struggle daily with this one because even a simple sex scene on a film can be an eternal struggle
Drug abuse
From a simple smoking weed at the back of the bike shed became addicted to pain meds, self medicating to keep myself ‘normal’. It has left me for dead on more than one occasion.
They are two completely different addiction but like everyone here who comes to be sober/clean/actively having to change their daily life.
THEY ALL MATTER.
Please dont judge an addiction if you’ve never felt that internal struggle.
As always be kind to yourself, you deserve it!
