So would have I, but the use of guns is frowned upon on TS.
Mr slasherman will probably not be able to keep up with the group as he is chasing Mr silent guy and has to cross the bogs first. With the other options it’s easier for Mr slasherman to keep up. Hence why it’s best to go to the beach. Swimming to the boat will also be easier for the group as Mr slasherman will probably want to keep his identity hidden, so he’ll keep on his heavy clothes whilst the group can ditch theirs
Solid logic. The race here is tight though and I don’t think people are voting toward swimming to the boat. One way or another, you’re going to end up going around the East Shore. Unless a bunch of people swing the vote.
It was the additional supplies that swung it, I’m feeling a little peckish.
Wise. You’re a scout at heart. Be prepared.
You have to get off the island and get to safety. Heading back to the North end beach would just box you in. The only clear path is to go around the East shore. That may take you toward the masked stalker, but it’s your only option. There are three of you. If you stick together, then you should be able to protect yourselves. But, you’re going to have to move, the day is wearing on and the captain said that the tide change could make leaving difficult.
After several minutes of gathering your wits, the group compartmentalizes the horrors they just witnessed and backtrack through the forest, weaving toward the rocky shore. Some time later you find yourselves overlooking the ocean from a rocky shelf. Mounds of earth and rock jut up here and there along this shoreline making natural caves alongside the crashing waves. It looks as though the tide is low currently, so that the water has receded from these rocky openings.
The three of you trudge along climbing through the rocks and broken driftwood. Chloe sniffles and keeps checking her pocket for her missing phone. Jamie regularly places a hand on your back or shoulder, reminding you that you are not alone.
The sun beats down on this side of the island making the rocks hot on your feet. You get several cuts and Jamie minorly twists an ankle. Chloe trails behind slowly, despite your prodding for her to keep up and stick together.
As you round a bend in the rocks you see the black figure standing upon a rocky mound with it’s black clothes rippling in the wind. You stifle a gasp and backtrack into a small cave to hide. Jamie and you make a quick plan. You could head inland a bit, keeping an eye on it and getting in front. You then notice that Chloe isn’t with you.
Jamie and you tear from the cave to see where she’s gone off to. Peering around the bend once again you see that she’s continued on without noticing your backtracking. She’s headed straight for the black figure on the rock. You yell at her to stop and the two of you clamber after her. The sound of the ocean crashing against the rocks drown out your cries.
Chloe pulls up short from the figure and screams, apparently barely noticing it. But, then she stops and starts looking around. Upon closer inspection, you realize that the figure at the top of the mound is just a dummy set up with some clothes on some sticks. What could the killer be trying to do here?
Chloe approaches the scarecrow. You shout for her to wait as you and Jamie try to catch up between your cut up feet and Jamie’s twisted ankle. As you begin the ascent up the mound Chloe pulls the mask off the dummy. You realize too late that this was once again another trap. The dummy crumples to the ground and a cord gives off a twang. It catches Chloe full in the middle, launching her off the mound and to the rocks below the shelf. Jamie and you watch helplessly as her body breaks upon the rocks. The crashing waves push her back up against the shelf, repeatedly bashing her over and over.
Upon the top of the mound you can see that the rocks thin out back to sandy beach, which ought to take you to the cove. Looking back you can almost make out where the rocky shoreline begins and where you left the North beach.
- Plunge forward. It’s only a short distance further to the South Cove.
- Go back to the North beach. There can’t be anything good waiting for you at the South Cove. Better to try swimming to the ship.

Knowing that you’re certain to encounter the killer that has haunted you from so many years ago, you resolve that you will continue on in spite of your past traumas urging you back. You and Jamie stick to the inside of the beachline, hiding behind trees and rocks. Caution has to be your ally here.
You enter the cove quietly. It seems that tourists have all come and gone for the day as the tide has begun to change. Traces of tourism are found everywhere. The beach is littered and dirty. A boat is floating in the cove with a rope attached to it leading to an anchor secured in the sand. This must be the poor man’s boat, whose throat was cut open by the masked stalker.
- Make a run for the boat. Get in and out fast.
- Proceed cautiously. Observe the beach, check the boat. The killer has been known to trap things.
- Too Dangerous. Let’s put our tails between our legs and go back to the North beach like a bunch of cowards.

You creep across the beach, scanning for hidden traps. You poke at the ground with the machete, while Jamie pokes with a stick. A poorly buried bear trap near the boat’s anchor springs under the prodding of Jamie’s stick, snapping it in half. This couldn’t be all, but further searching through the sand reveals no more tricks. You pick up the metal spade anchor and quickly make your way to the boat.
As you rush to the boat Jamie screams at you to watch out. You drop to the sand as a blade passes overhead where you used to stand. The masked killer stands off against the treeline drawing another knife from it’s dark cloak. Jamie grabs your hand and pulls you up and toward the boat. The figure begins walking forward rubbing its gloved thumb against the flat of the blade.
You throw the anchor into the boat and together with Jamie splash into the boat. The killer is getting closer. You start to fiddle with the engine trying to get it started.
You spy movement from the corner of your eye, distracting you from your task momentarily. The silent weirdo. He’s emerged from the jungle and is sneaking up on the masked killer.
- Have Jamie take the Machete and try to team up with the silent guy against the killer while you figure out how to get the motor started. You just need a little time!
- Out the weirdo’s location to the killer. Maybe it will distract him enough to give you the time to start the engine.
- Look through the boat for something else to defend yourself.

No one wanted to sacrifice the weirdo?!
maybe later
I love this thread!
Jamie does a quick scan of the boat. What can you use?
You fumble with the engine’s cord. You try to pull it, but the engine seems stiff and cold. Maybe it needs to be primed. Is there a primer to kickstart the carburetor? You’re not a mechanic, and definitely not a sailor, but these seem like pretty basic functions of an engine.
You steal a glance up to the beach. The silent guy dives on the masked villain from behind trying to put it in a choke hold. Who knows what kind of fiction this guy grew up on, but in real life things like that just don’t work like in the movies. The choke hold doesn’t even to seem to draw any signs of panic from the killer. It just grips the blade in a gloved hand and swings over it’s shoulder. The knife buries deep into the poor guy’s eye socket. He slides limp from the masked monster’s shoulders and shakes gently in the sand.
A boot to the silent guy’s face acts as a lever to wrench the knife from his skull. The mask turns toward you and continues forward. You found the priming valve and pump it three times. You begin to yank on the cord. It’s so close. You just need a little more time!
- A good sturdy wooden oar. Might be able to keep the killer at a distance. One good whack would be enough to keep it at bay.
- A hard rubber buoy attached to a length of rope. Could be swung around. Maybe even used to trip the masked menace.
- A deep sea fishing pole. This fiberglass rod is long and whiplike. The hook and line are not threaded, but it seems like it could make a formidable weapon.
- A melon sized rock sits in the shallows. You could throw it…
- The anchor has a pretty sharp spade on it, made for carving into the sand. Attached to the rope, it might seem unwieldy, but it certainly would hurt to get hit by it.

Interesting first choice… I didn’t think that was going to be the one people would pick.
Jamie hefts the anchor and rope as the poor silent guys lifeless body slumps to the sand with a gaping hole in his head. The masked figure steps into the shallows. Blood drips from the knife point into the water. The blood swirls around before being pushed away by the steady in and out of the tide.
Jamie give a good swing with the anchor to ward off any advancement of the killer. It steps back away from your improvised weapon with enough time for it to clear. Jamie quickly tries to pull it closer back in for another swing as the killer rushes in with unreal speed. Jamie screams in terror. You turn away from the motor in shock to see Jamie and the masked figure locked in combat. Jamie has seized it’s wrist with the blade and has dropped the anchor. It is trying to pull Jamie from the boat into the water.
- The motor is turning over. Jamie is holding off the killer. Maybe one more crank will get it going! Then you can jet out of here.
- You have to help Jamie! It will take both of you to stop the killer.

I might change my vote…do I like Jamie?
What if they both die?!? The story would be over!
That’s for you to decide. Clearly you liked the silent guy, since you didn’t sacrifice him.
@RosaCanDo Never know! Maybe this is a choose your own adventure and you guys have just barely skated by not dying this whole time!
I decided I would sacrifice her and sail off into the sunset.
@Thirdmonkey Scott, throwing a wrench into things. I guess I’ll have to do a happy medium between the two.
Way I figure it. The motor starts, jolting the boat forward…Jamie falls out, and sacrifices herself so I can get away. I find the cure to cancer, get a Nobel Peace Prize…and during my speach I make a comment about how I owe everything to her.
