Hello all, I hope everyone is doing well today!
I have just joined this forum and this is my first post explaining why I am here.
My name is Scorpi…well, it’s my online name/nickname! I want my real name to remain anonymous.
The main issue I’m dealing with here is an addiction to pornography.
I’ve been watching it since I was 14 and I have been trying to quit for 6 years, since I realised it was doing me much more harm than good.
I’ve tried various different things. I’ve tried blockers, I’ve tried online courses and other communities, I’ve tried therapy…none of it has worked completely so far.
The last year or two I all but gave up on quitting. I’ve only gone a week without porn in those 2 years once.
But I’m back in the saddle, as they say. I’m nearing my mid 30s now and the alarm bells are ringing in my mind about living a healthier lifestyle before it’s too late.
There’s a lot more going on than what I’ve just typed but I don’t wanna be here all day writing my entire life story.
I’d say the biggest nugget of wisdom I have so far on this journey is that it’s all but impossible to quit this thing if you are not a part of a community that understands and can relate to what you’re going through, so here I am!
