Hi guys my name is Tony im new here just wanted to introduce myself. I just graduated journeypure php up here in bowling green Kentucky. I’m brand new to recovery I’ve only got 63 days so any advice on anything recovery related would be appreciated. I’m also looking to make new sober friends! Love yall
Welcome and congratulations on your 63 days Tony. This is a great sober community to get and give support. There’s tons of experience strength and hope here.
Have a good read around. Join in when you’re comfortable.
Welcome to the forum Tony my advice at the moment is to just read around the different threads and get to know how things work, there’s a check in thread you can also use that’s where you’ll probably get to knothe most people
Howdy Tony played a few soccer games in Kentucky when i was in Cincinnati in the eighties wish you well
@Afrix1986 Hey Tony welcome.
We’re glad you’re here man, we love new people.
If you need someone to talk to or vent to you can message me if you want, I’ve got 6+ of clean time and I am always willing to help however I can.
How are you liking your new clean living so far? Struggling? Got a plan? Making meetings?
Nice to hear from another positive newcomer
Welcome. Compared to me you’ve got a long time … I just got my 20 day medallian a few days ago. There’s lots of great advice here .. I’m drinking a ton of LaCroix, sighing deeply an awful lot, and going on walks listening to up-beat music when the weather is nice. I only walk a little over half a mile .. I have one new hip and one injured hip. Back in the day I walked 3 or more .. but I was also much much younger. Anyways, I find that walking helps. Any advice for me?
Welcome Tony!
Thanks man I appreciate it nice to meet you
Hello fellow traveller, thanks for writing, we do need connection. So stay connected.
Hello I’m Shanell nice to meet and congratulations on your sobriety. I’m trying to post an introduction, but I don’t know how to do it. Can you please tell me how I can post mine
Hi there Shanell!
If you’d like to create your own thread (similar to this one)
Youd go to the main page and in the top right theres a box with a pencil in it, click and choose what type of topic it is (your story, milestones, just for fun, etc) create a title, and then just start typing
If you want to introduce yourself to the main group all at once so more people will see you and be able to welcome you faster, you can come here
Scroll to the bottom and reply.
Ill be looking forward to seeing you around
Welcome Tony! Congratulations on your 64 days! My biggest advice in the first few months is to find your reason and every time you have a craving, think of your reason again.
For me i chose my kids to be my reason. When i felt like i couldnt do it i spent time with one of them or did something nice for one of them… of course you have to be doing it for yourself in the long run, but whatever can get you motivated to start the journey in the short term is good enough.
Also sleeping, getting outside into the fresh air, keeping myself busy, and reading around here and finding sober companions was my biggest help.
Glad to see you here and hoping keep seeing you around the forum
Welcome to the forum @YellowFlowers , @Scorpn has very kindly explained how to create your own thread , hope you enjoy your experience on here and don’t be afraid to ask questions
