@Afrix1986 Hey Tony welcome.

We’re glad you’re here man, we love new people.

If you need someone to talk to or vent to you can message me if you want, I’ve got 6+ of clean time and I am always willing to help however I can.

How are you liking your new clean living so far? Struggling? Got a plan? Making meetings?

Nice to hear from another positive newcomer :slight_smile:

Welcome. Compared to me you’ve got a long time … I just got my 20 day medallian a few days ago. There’s lots of great advice here .. I’m drinking a ton of LaCroix, sighing deeply an awful lot, and going on walks listening to up-beat music when the weather is nice. I only walk a little over half a mile .. I have one new hip and one injured hip. Back in the day I walked 3 or more .. but I was also much much younger. Anyways, I find that walking helps. Any advice for me?

Hello I’m Shanell nice to meet and congratulations on your sobriety. I’m trying to post an introduction, but I don’t know how to do it. Can you please tell me how I can post mine

Hi there Shanell! :blush:

If you’d like to create your own thread (similar to this one)
Youd go to the main page and in the top right theres a box with a pencil in it, click and choose what type of topic it is (your story, milestones, just for fun, etc) create a title, and then just start typing :blush:

If you want to introduce yourself to the main group all at once so more people will see you and be able to welcome you faster, you can come here

Scroll to the bottom and reply. :slightly_smiling_face:
Ill be looking forward to seeing you around :smiling_face:

Welcome Tony! Congratulations on your 64 days! My biggest advice in the first few months is to find your reason and every time you have a craving, think of your reason again.

For me i chose my kids to be my reason. When i felt like i couldnt do it i spent time with one of them or did something nice for one of them… of course you have to be doing it for yourself in the long run, but whatever can get you motivated to start the journey in the short term is good enough.

Also sleeping, getting outside into the fresh air, keeping myself busy, and reading around here and finding sober companions was my biggest help.

Glad to see you here and hoping keep seeing you around the forum :blush:

I dont have more advice than saying keep showing up and keep being sober on day at a time!
I have had relapses partly for trying to achieve sobriety on my own during the last 8 years. Community is the way for 99.9% of people, so its great you are reaching out. This is an awesome community!
Be cool and keep pushing. Have a good day. Odaat.
