I have to admit I didn’t think I would get here. But 30 days. Wow. Tomorrow will be one calendar month.
I’m starting to no longer miss drinking in the evenings. In the beginning it took a lot of strength and resolve to not open the liquor cabinet but now I don’t even think about it. It doesn’t bother me anymore to see my hubby drinking a glass of wine, though he definitely is drinking less himself.
I’ve also finally stopped drinking juice all the time (I guess sugar cravings) and eating all the time so I’m hoping that this is the start of the famous weight loss. I did lose 2 pounds this week but I don’t want to assume that this is the not a fluke. We’ll see long term. But all those years of alcohol did do a number on my waistline.
Oh, I think I’m losing some edema fluids too. I noticed in the shower yesterday that the bottoms of my feet felt less puffy. I had never noticed fluid in my ankles so I thought I was doing okay but now I remember after having IV fluids after a previous surgery that the bottoms of my feet tend to hold fluids. I didn’t notice that the fluid was there but I DID notice that it was gone now…if that makes any sense.
So, my hubby is taking the kids to a friends’ cottage for a few days so I have tonight to celebrate my 30 days. I’m planning on doing a little shopping on my way home from work and maybe even picking up some yummy vegan food for my dinner. Then I’m going to Netflix my night away!!!
