I think it would be nice to start a thread for the fathers out there. I was staying dry before my daughter was born and shes the most precious thing in my life so I want to get back on track for her sake.

Nobody is doomed to fail. We are all here to support each other. I think its best if you can, forgive yourself, so you dont hang yourself with guilt for making some mistakes. It is human nature to have faults and the important things is moving past it and building a brighter future.

Yesterday getting home and spending the evening with my baby girl has been awesome. Sober me has no guilt when she cries. I am not worried i am being numbed into not paying enough attention because I am fully aware of every conscious moment we are together. Also I am not losing those memories to alcohol. She is such a blessing.
