Trying to get sober again

I am new here and not sure how this works. I haven’t reached out to a group before. I was sober for 4 months then relapsed and haven’t been able to get back on track. I feel alone and lost in this so I am reaching out to others in hopes to get me motivated enough to quit again. Thank you all for your support truly.

Welcome to the community! I suggest just reading around a bit and joining in where you are comfortable. I have found this place to be incredibly helpful and one of my main tools for staying sober. I hope you will find it helpful as well. I look forward to seeing you around here.

Welcome Sarah - you’ve come to the right place! I’m a newcomer myself, arriving only last week, but already blown away by how supportive and kind everyone here is. I highly recommend the daily check ins to begin with and the daily gratitude thread is a personal favourite of mine too. Best of luck and look forward to seeing you around!

Hi Sarah! Welcome to the family :folded_hands:t2::heart:

Welcome! Reaching out is a good start! I started going to meetings. I didn’t know what I was doing or expecting but it’s helped me a lot. At first, I would just sit and listen but being around other people that are dealing with the same struggles really helped me realize how much of a problem I really had. Being sober wasn’t enough for me. I had tried it and I would always find a reason to relapse. I had to figure out why I was drinking and doing drugs before I really started to have the desire to stop for good and start living my life instead of numbing it. Good luck. I’m glad that you’re here.
