Bill, there must be a way of watching it on t’internet. 5 on-demand possibly?
Thanks got it on record channel 5+1…
Just finished watching it. Good to hear those stories. Pretty poignant too.
Yes, I thought it missed out on how they got sober though.
Those documentaries often do. I always assumed it’s because people in AA dont normally broadcast it because of anonymity.
Great to see a programme like that on mainstream tv. If you can call 5 mainstream!
I think it will definitely make some people think. I know I would have if I hadn’t already
It went from boozed up Brits abroad to that.
I thought the Irish girl and guy with the beard spoke particularly well.
The broadcaster guy is a sad situation, I hope he finds his path soon.
Was that what was on before?
I related to the guy with the beard.
I remember Tina in Shameless.
Ooh thanks for letting us know… will watch on catch up this w/e
These TV shows always seem to take on too many people to make it personable/relatable. I agree with @NewPerspective Felix spoke well and Alison (the Irish girl) was bang on with the whole Irish Stigma.
Being Irish in Glasgow I totally identified with her, it is expected that you can drink more than them, and they can bloody drink here so you had to drink a lot to meet their expectations
Watched it
Only just saw it. Very moving. Shows the important of talking about it…
I cannot find this atall on catch up!
Never mind found it now
Tonight - Drinkers like me - BBC2 - quite interesting watching Adrian Chile’s take on his drinking.
Is it any good? Was flicking around and saw it but decided to go to bed instead.
