Very vivid dreams

Just woke up can’t get back to sleep as had very realistic dream about me on holiday and ended with me having a drink. Very weird remember the entire dream which never happens. Makes me think though that I could not enjoy a holiday without the temptation of drinking. Anyone had any similar experience to this?

Drinking/drugging dreams are very common, I have had one in a while but I had loads a bit back, they can be a bit unsettling at first but once you realise it was just a dream you will be okay. :+1::slightly_smiling_face:

I totally agree with @anon13078412. Those dreams freaked me out in early sobriety, but as time went on they became less frequent. Sometime once told me to enjoy it when it happens. It’s a freebee.

This is a good way of thinking about it, it’s a free bee I’ll use that again and yes it is just a dream need to think that

In my early days my dreams were about drinking again ,today my dreams are for old guys like me x rated lol

I know what you mean about the x rated dreams. That’s the reason I’m on here, is the x rated stuff I look at when I’m awake. So when I’ve had vivid dreams I don’t like, they always seems to be x rated. So I hate it when someone tells me “it’s just a dream, you can’t control it” or especially seeing those " it’s a freebie " comments. I realize they’re trying to help and I appreciate that. But stuff like that just makes me feel sad, makes me feel hopeless. I don’t want to be that person when I’m awake, why would I want to be that way in my dreams? Why would I want a “freebie”? If you fill the same, I do have some good news. Awhile back I had a clean period of time of three months, which may not sound like much, but in that time I was able to control my eyes and my mind and draw closer to God and about a month into that time my dreams went from x rated to g rated while still having just as much vivid clarity and so I was not only able to remember my dreams but enjoy them too. So, though it is little experience, I do have experience saying that God does give us the control over both our awake mind and, over time, our subconscious mind.

While we should not believe, what we dream is who we are.
We must believe in who we are, for our dreams to reflect the same.

I understand what you mean and where your coming from mate but these people have had drinking or drugging dreams that are quite horrible in their own right so by referring to them as a freebie they are just trying to lighten the impact that these dreams have on them by using a little bit of gallows humour similar to what the emergency services use to help them deal with all the horrible things that they have to face. No one meant that they are actually enjoying having a freebie and neither did they mean to offend anybody.
Welcome to the forum buddy. :+1::slightly_smiling_face::slightly_smiling_face::slightly_smiling_face::slightly_smiling_face:

I never dream about drinking , which is weird cause I think about it all day…

And no one actually said to you to enjoy the stream as a freebie, they wouldn’t have said that to somebody with a porn addiction. The vast majority of forum members are extremely considerate towards eachothers addictions.
I’m only saying this as it seems that you have taken offense. :+1::slightly_smiling_face:
None of us enjoy these dreams nor have we enjoyed being physically dependant on a substance that just makes us feel normal when we take it. Having to take it so we are not incredibly sick. The people referring to them as a freebie are not happy that they have had them, they actually wake up scared shirtless that they have relapsed and thrown their sobriety out of the window. :+1::slightly_smiling_face:

I’m 14 days sober. Having dreams about drinking at least 5 times I can remember. Dreams are always different situations but when I drink in the dream it’s always a relapse.

Type exactly as follows and the system will private message you and take your through a tutorial :+1:
