Waking Nightmares

And it’s really strange that quite a few people you talk to just go ‘oh yeah! I get that’ - as though it’s no big thing. I personally find it extremely creepy, and I’m not getting used to it!

It seems alot more common that you might think

I had a really vivid sleep paralysis episode about 6 years ago where I had heartburn and eventually complete numbness around the left side of body. I had actually gotten out of bed but the pain in my chest was so severe I had to lie down
I tried to call to my now ex girlfriend who was sleeping, but I couldn’t articulate her name, its like I was having a massive stroke.
Thankfully I woke up and my ex girlfriend was a bit perplexed and reassured me I was not having a stroke.
It was like being in a parallel universe and utterly terrifying. It only ever seemed to happen to me after taking lots of MDMA on top of all the booze. Thankfully I don’t get them as I don’t party anymore. They are scary

And you don’t see or hear much about it in the Media at all - it’s really odd!

Yeah mdma causes bad episodes of sleep paralysis…and crazy dreams…bad combination

Probably because people don’t want to mention it so as to not risk being called crazy lol

@Charlesfreck the paralysis happened when I was living wrong, the dark side. When I’m feeling spiritual and in a good place and living clean, I experience astral projection quite often. I visit loved ones and remember it. Its when i come back to my body and see it thats a bit scary. I keep a small cross over every door that leads into the inside and bedrooms as protection from the creepy stuff. I’m an emotional and nature empath btw.

Yes, it’s rather annoying that most of the articles I read are full of the ‘science’ of this phemomena and yet it’s obvious to a blind man on a galloping horse that this is very weird and spooks the bejeezus out of everyone that experiences it. And moreso, it’s STILL weird however many times later. I’m fairly rational, I rationalise what’s happening, and it’s still setting off all manner of alarm bells!
I think it’s time for my cross to come out, until convinced otherwise - good idea!
Astral projection’s amazing, isn’t it - I used to be able to do it and have a reasonable amount of control over it many years ago. I must have become too boring! - I envy you your trips @Melrm.

This is insane!! I have never heard of this, it sounds absolutely terrifying!!
I am so sorry that you guys experience this!
Thank god I don’t, I live on my own with my kids and if I were to experience this I wouldn’t be able to cope with every day life as my anxiety would consume me!

Thank you for sharing this @Charlesfreck . Honestly I learn so much being on this forum!
