Anybody ever struggle with the thought of “oh, I haven’t had a drink in 5 days when I used to drink every night so I can reward myself tonight, it’s the weekend” ? If so, how did you push through those tricky thoughts?

Its a well known issue in my early recovery @La3737 it was a struggle at first , i got frustrated, mad .but eventually it past . Now it does not bother me . I can smile and say to myself let it go. Positivity works

Definitely second @Oliverjava’s post. It’s your “addict brain” doing the reasoning. If you really think about it, it’s completely wrong.

Thank you guys… I know you are right and I fought the urge to stop and pick up some wine. Thank you for the encouragement, it is so awesome to have support and encouragement from people I don’t even know, yet know exactly how I feel.
