174.2 lbs . Headed the right direction.
Hey guys ,
Just a quick question. I am looking to loose some weight in the next 10 weeks before I get my newborn child ![]()
Whatās the deal with the once a week weight check? I mean Iāve heard before that if you weight yourself you should do it everyday because a lil bit too much of this and that one day can make you take 3pounds of water and other day you could be a lil dehydrated so that if you weigh in on that day then you donāt have an accurate picture bla bla blaā¦
Do you guys have an opinion on this?
I am interested in doing it once a week, with maybe a waist measurement, because I donāt want to be overthinking it everyday and maybe be disappointed one morning etc.
I think tracking your food is a good start. Im with you on overthinking if you weigh in everyday. Lots of folks here weigh in weekly
Happy Monday everyone!
Here we go the big weigh in dayā¦
80.9kg ā¦thats down 700g or 1½lbs since last Monday, 5½lbs overall.
Still eating crisps/chips, chocolates and biscuits but not quite as many- still room for improvement.
Exercise wise just my daily walking at work around 25-30k steps a day, then my dog walk with Alfie.
Theres also room for improvement there as well, this is beging to sound like my old school report card.
Sooner or later this weight loss will stop if I dont start to work more at it.
Still very pleased with my results this week.
@WCan Once a week weigh in works well for me. I dont expect to lose every week but if its generally weight loss as opposed to weight gain over matter of months then im heading in the right direction.
Id never have enough time to weigh myself daily.
@Cjp A food diary is a great idea especially early on. Mine would be full of crisps and biscuits so i dont do one
.
Im really good at knowing what I need to do, its the doing it that I find difficult at times.
Hipe you all have a good week.

Monday weigh in +0.8lbs
Not stressing about it though because Iāve been tracking my food consistently so I know itās gotta be some water retention or something. Just got to keep trusting the process .
@CanadianGirl Hiya Tisha, great to see you back. Where have you been? Ive made soup today which will be delicious, its the crusty bread rolls with lashings of butter that may do some damageā¦its worth it so I will exercise it off
perhaps. ![]()
198.5 lbs ![]()
Thanks @Leveller . Iāve been around just not on main thread lately. Lots going IRL and was a bit overwhelmed trying to stay caught up with everyone there so took a bit of a break from it . Did check in there today and plan to do so daily again.
A couple of lbs is nothing eric. Put it down to having a good week. ![]()
Iāve officially lost 20 pounds as of yesterday! Highest in my life (which was when I was drinking and binge snacking at night) was 178. Iām 158 now!!! ![]()

Hey thatās great.
No drinking definitely help me to loose weigh. Another beautiful benefit of sobriety.
Thanks Col
@Leveller
Not gonna let it stress me. And lots of family in town. As long as Iām not drinking itās a win.
Weekly check in:
I actually didnāt gain or lose anything at all lol. 0.0lbs since last week. Iām starting back to walking today though so weāll see next week!
Not a weight loss check-in but a non scale victory check in. Today I wore a work shirt and pants that were both a size smaller than what Iāve warn for over a year now
Huge win! @CanadianGirl
Sure why not! Iāll share here too. My weight loss journey started 8 years ago when I weighed in at 304 lbs. My doctor, at the time, wanted to put me on the list for gastric bypass surgery. I was recently sober from alcohol and used that as an excuse to pig outā¦shortly after that I found out that I needed a hip replacement at 40, consequences of alcoholis; my drinking had eaten away at my hip joint causing my femoral head to collapse. After my surgery, I started making major lifestyle changes to lose weight. It was a slow process but I have since lost 120 lbs. I still have about 30 to go but I am no longer morbidly obese, I am now overweight. From 304 to 184 lbs. Itās a slow process but I had to make some strict lifestyle changes to make it happenā¦
99.9kg first time being under 100 in over a year!
Great job!!! Yay!!! ![]()
WOW!!! What an incredivle journey uv been on! Proud of u for making such big changes!
Weighed myself on Oct 1st at 240lb. Today I am im 235.2lb. Making progress with all the changes Im making to my diet. Havent been able to exercise as much as I would like due to the teachers strike in my province (meaning my son is home with me), but focusing on diet is still making a difference ![]()
Weighing in today as tomorrow after a turkey dinner tonight seems like a dumb idea ![]()
-2.2 since last week ( I was up last week so not as impressive as it looks
)
-19.2 since July 13
My goal was to reach -20lbs for this weekend and well I got really close!! Iām not upset as I know 20lbs in 3 months is a little on the ambitious side ( especially for a perimenopausal woman) Now to not overindulge and stay mostly on track tonight and keep pushing forward to the next goal. Now aiming for a total of 40lbs by new years.
