I often plan to do too much / too vague.
So
Keep boundaries better
Start weight training.
I’m going to rewrite my own resolutions with this.
Hope to make it easier this way to let me succeed Maybe something for you too @Misokatsu ?
I’m thinking I might eat less chocolate but I may have to work up to the task with a couple of simpler ones so first I’m going to reverse global warming and end world hunger.
Good morning and happy new year!
I resolve to continue my recovery work in 2024. Not only my sobriety from alcohol, but my personal growth and recovery from all that got me in trouble before. This is not new, it is a renewed commitment for the new year!
I resolve to use my time well by reducing my phone scrolling on dumb Facebook. I’ve removed it from my phone to reduce the time suck. This is a new one. I started a new volume of a journal to have at my chair instead of the Facebook time sucker machine.
I resolve to keep working on my good daily habits. I’m trying to actually take good care of myself with exercise, good food choices, good sleep routines. This is not new, but a good renewal.
I resolve to take steps to contact my children more frequently I need to build it into a routine. They are busy men, but a quick text or call is something we need to make a priority in 2024.
I think this is a lot. I don’t usually make resolutions. The main one I needed to make in my life was the one I was not willing to face. But now I love being sober! 26 months! Like a cute 2 year old out here toddling around saying Happy New Year!
Have a wonderful day! I’m putting this phone down and picking up my pen! Peace!
Great.
The boundary one is hard to quantify. But I want to say what I want / need, using ‘I’ sentences, and be calm and consistent. I tend to hold in my wants / needs and then get passive aggressive or just aplain ggressive.
Weights is easier. I downloaded a program. Do that x2 a week. Definitely during my spring break.
I wish I could fix that Then I would skip all the others on my list.
Apart from the obvious…
Quick social media (FB, insta, TikTok) - I waste too much time scrolling and looking at other peoples lives rather than concentrating on my own
Lose weight - if staying sober works for me this shouldn’t be that hard. I drank more calories than I eat and it leads to crap food the next day
Read more - planning on getting more sleep so an hour of reading before bed should help me get sleep while I’m going through withdrawal
What she said and keep on following MY mind and heart and have faith
I’m not one for new years resolutions but I did promise myself that I’d get back into running when I gave up the booze. Going well so far and really enjoying it.
Signed up for a half marathon in March with a view of doing the Yorkshire marathon in October.
Haahaa Jim @Lezourez! Love your resolutions for 2024! Have a great New Year! Keep on staying strong
Eat better for sure
Well, one thing I’m resolved to do is quit playing games on my phone, as I’ve realised that I use it to procrastinate and to tune out others when I’m overwhelmed by people (I’m a textbook introvert). I know perfectly well that there are better, healthier ways to do that while still remaining self-aware and mindful of others. So I’ve set up a Sober counter and I’m now heading for Day 5. I hope to be able to keep it up!
Anyone else on the quitting phone games boat?
Edit: I’ve deleted the two games I was playing, obviously.
One of the things i resolve is to not allow myself to buy more junk to bring into the house
Organize, utilize
Then euthanize my credit card
