What does everyone do for a living?

@louwho
How do you feel abt the bartending gig ?
In the 18 months after I got sober, I helped a friend who owned a catering company. Never had an issue and saw lots of bad drunks. That was good reinforcement.
Best,

I am also a stay at home mom. Prior to that I was a corporate events planner. I managed to stay sober for 7 years whilst stocking liquor cabinets in all of the conference rooms and hosting many boozy parties. Amazing the willpower I had then with access to free food and alcohol anytime I pleased.
It wasn’t until I started staying home that I relapsed. It literally is both the most rewarding amd challenging job on earth.

I’ve been a stay at home mom for the past year and a half. Military wife. Professional makeup artist, licensed esthetician, wax specialist. Started going back to school for psychology but had to take a break because of motherhood and my husband’s career. Looking forward to going back to work in a couple months and back to school next year. :blush:

I work in publishing and just finished editing my first academic collection…starting my second. I also organize international feminist conferences and coordinate submissions for an academic journal.

Yeah definitely positive reinforcement. It doesn’t bother me being around alcohol. Usually someone does or says something that makes me happy I am sober now! Also, you can’t beat the money.

How did you get involved with the feminist conferences? I’ve been looking for ways to volunteer but haven’t had much luck. You can pm me if you’d like :slight_smile:
