My sobriety word is HAPPINESS.

It represents…
*Focusing on all the positive things that have happened in my life since becoming sober.
*Clarity and seeing it for the beauty that it is
*The opposite of how I felt in active addiction
*Being content at this moment
*Seeing the sparkle back in my eyes
*The pursuit of…by doing the next right thing
*Hoping for the best
*This too shall pass
*Onward and upward
*To thine own self be true

Perseverance.

Although I don’t consider it to be just a sobriety word. It’s a state of being - a way of life. I apply it to every aspect of my life.

  • Facing adversity and remaining steadfast
  • NEVER give up. Always keep fighting
  • Work to better myself every day
  • Set goals and actively work towards them - however long it takes
  • Remain loyal and faithful to those I love even when there is significant distance between us - literally and figuratively
  • Push through the pain because it will be worth it
  • Not let the past define me. Learn from my experiences and mistakes
  • Recognize when I have an area to work on and make changes
  • Know that I am capable of whatever I set my mind to and deserving of happiness

I am the determinator :yum:

Mine is integrety

Staying true to myself
Being honest
Helping another, be it in recovery or not
Doing the next right thing
Being available
Keeping my word

Basically the definition of the word. But it helps me remember why I’m doing this.

I like all these words!

I think mine would be ‘ambition’. I was always described as ambitious before alcohol took over, I definitely want my life back so I can achieve and be that ambitious person again :slightly_smiling_face:

Mine is Sunshine.:sunglasses:

I’m at my happiest when I am in the sun. It is, for me, a natural mood lifter and everyone and everything is brighter when the sun shines. Literally and figuratively!
When I medidate, I visualise a bright, warm sun emerging from a cloud in the brilliant blue sky and flooding me with warmth and comfort. It’s my safe, calm place.
One thing I always try and remember is no matter how dark my day is or how overcast my mood is, the sun is ALWAYS shining above the clouds. It’s 100% true. Jump on a plane - the sun is always out and shining in that beautiful blue sky once you rise above the clouds!!!
That little perspective change I have learnt has altered my thinking alot and so sunshine is absolutely my sobriety word.

Mine would be consistency. If I don’t consistently do the things I’ve been doing to keep sober then I’m in trouble.

Ok, so not really a word, but in Fellowship of The Ring, Tolkien wrote, “Faithless Is He Who Says Farewell When The Road Darkens.” It is tattooed on my right thigh.
It does get dark sometimes, but I will remain Faithful to myself and to my family and my friends.
It’s burned onto my body to make sure I see it daily.
