Beans and fortified cereals is on my list. I am a whole food plant based eater
Lmao!! Last time I checked I was a woman LOL. Unless something changed while I was asleep
I was like do women have testosterone?? I mean I don’t remember learning this in Sex Ed! Lol
Yes women have testosterone we typically have lower levels however
Maybe mine is non existing
It is probably worth looking into. If we have it maybe we need it
Can be our age also, and hormonal fluctuations other than testosterone. Plus stress & anxiety (which I think most of us in here struggle with!)
I probably missed the memo
Teen years. Co ed. Get the picture? Lol
Absolutely 100%
For women, the whole sex thing is offcourse also a Dopamine thing. So, it could be just that. But it could also have to do with selfimage and what not. So it’s not safe to say it’s just hormonal. It could be that due to a lack of substances other feelings pop up and getting your groove on fills that gap.
Yes, they do have testosterone, but at very low levels when compared to men, just as men have estrogen, but at very low levels when compared to women.
Hi @Twan. There are a lot of members of AA that are members of SA or SAA.
Its not uncommon. Thanks for sharing. Just saw your post. Sorry for all of the confusion here. But it sounds like you’re seeing your sexual behavior as a problem like you did with your other DOC.
And if you feel it best to abstain, we’ll support you.
Hey there @Twan! I’ve seen a lot of people around here realize that sex addiction has been hiding under substance abuse. I’ve also seen a lot of people who have replaced substances with sex. Maybe the same thing, but, doesn’t matter. What matters is that you are seeing this and aware of it. There is a lot of support for sex addiction.
Replacing one addiction with another is very common. This is one of the biggest reasons that working a formal program works. Watching out for this switch in addictions is part of the early process in most programs. Finding multiple addictions as well.
Do you have any formal support? Any mental health support? The beginning of my recovery included IOP for dual diagnosis and intensive therapy, as well as medication management. I’m still in the therapy and psychiatry. I will be doing this for the rest of my life, most likely, as mental health is the root catalyst for my drinking and using. Actively working on these issues keeps me safe and sober.
I haven’t said welcome yet, so, WELCOME! This is a great place!
Hi interesting thread. I would like to hear your opinions. What happens when u quit alcohol and your sex drive increases, but your spouse sex drive decreases.
You discuss it and find a way forward that works for you both.
I am following this too.
Just tip…there’s nothing spontaneous about sex, I have learned. The “wooing” process is continuous for me. Wives have sex when they feel loved and cherished. Husbands feel loved when their wives say “yes” to sex. Want more sex? Love your wife.
Love is action, not feeling. I love my wife when I load the dishwasher and put the clean away. I love her when I do the laundry, or run errands, or take the dog to the vet, or work hard to make more money, or compliment her, or just listen to her.
Being sober, while really for me, does demonstrate that I am willing to put my life with my wife, ahead of my desire to drink, which makes her feel valued.
And when she feels loved, she wants to love me back…
LOL that’s funny. I think?
Beautiful
Lmao! I still like shopping better.
