I have two exes around Dallas. Richardson and The Colony.
Once, back in the early 90’s, I was visiting Ol Girl in The Colony. She threw me out and I had to hitchhike back to DFW. I don’t even get three blocks w my suitcase in my hand and hear a car, throw my thumb out and turn around. It’s a police officer. I’m thinking, “Well Hell, now me and my suitcase are going to jail in Denton County, Texas.”
He asked me what was going on. I told him she threw me out and I was headed to DFW to fly home. He said, “We’ve all been there, get in.” He drove me to Lewisville and radioed a Lewisville officer. Lewisville officer drove me almost to DFW and I walked about half a mile before an old man in an older pickup truck picked me up and dropped me at Delta.
I am apparently not much of a songwriter, because that Country song damn near wrote itself and I still didn’t make any money on it. Relayed it to a buddy named Reuben and he wrote it.

(I see what you did there). No, actually the entire state has a restraining order against me in perpetuity after the Great Broadway Incident of 1997, stemming from a drunkened visit to Nash-Vegas.
Seriously, my father is from Maury County, just south of Nashville though.
