I’m glad Nova came back on her own. I’m really happy for you. And she looks so cute curled up in her bed.

When I came home last night our new boy Milo was still out, so I walked through the estate, calling his name and shaking the biscuit box, until I saw him jump out of a garden running towards me. Then he followed me back home like a dog.

With feeding the nice wet food last thing at night before my bedtime, it’s quite a good insensitive for my cats to come back for the night. Especially as we have foxes in the area, I sleep better knowing the cats are inside at night.

We’ve got a lot of foxes about as we live right on the edge of a wood.
I’m just scared that Tici’s going to bring parts of one home, if not a fox maybe bits of a badger!
Shes already had quite a few squirrels, I’m fed up with putting fluffy tails in the bin!

Nothing is safe from her, and I mean nothing with a capital NO.

Dogs do a swift about turn when they see her, especially if shes got her 3 shadows with her.
Tobys (my old ginger Tom, sadly passed) nemesis (sex pest) has been put to rights several times, but he’s too thick to learn from experience
Shes even been killing the hornets, taking them mid air.

But, to be fair, as it’s getting colder and they’re getting a little bit older, and as they’ve nowestablished their territory, they pitch up about 21:00ish, eat then sleep

I rarely leave nova in my apartment alone but sometimes if the radar looks bad or the weather looks bad I do but I was wondering about the safety of getting her cat toys? Is there anything that I shouldn’t get or will she be fine? I want to get her this thing that she is supposed to climb on that it’s like some kind of structure type thing I can’t explain it but I’ll try to post a photo and I think she would have so much fun on this! But I also got her this bundle of toys and most of them have these like jingle bell type things in them and some other stuffed animal type things that look like fish or other animals.. But my question is this safe for her? Plus I don’t even know if she’ll play with this stuff when I’m not here. Because when I’m not here obviously I don’t know what she’s doing but she’s probably just sleeping. I know one thing she really likes boxes and that’s why I leave them everywhere. I just want her to have everything she possibly could have and maybe some things she never did have!

She jumped out of her bed and she’s already playing with some of her new toys! It’s pretty cool watching her be entertained

Cats are curious folk. The more you let them play with the more they’ll play. Next time you are at the hardware store as them for a scrap length of twine or string. Dangle it above Nova and she will probably play with you for hours.

Thank you .. When I first started taking care of her I noticed she was like mesmerized by my iPhone cord and stuff like that maybe she thinks it’s like a snake or lizard or something so I was using a shoestring for a while but that’s a good idea to get a piece of twine or something..

Cats do play when they’re on their own. You will notice that toys will not be where you left them when coming home.
I collect all toys and leave them on the scratching board when I tidy up and clean. The favourite is the squeaky mouse, I always find it upstairs somewhere. It makes noises when pushed around. Also pipe cleaners are a big hit.

Just in general, there are toys they can play with on their own: balls, little stuffed toys, etc. And there are toys you need to operate for playtime: anything on a string or on a wand. Don’t leave strings out, cats can get tangled up in them and strangle themselves. My cat wand goes in the cupboard when not actively used.

My Jasper just took a week vacation in the neighborhood. He literally tore my screen out. I have heard putting their box outside can lead them home as well. Hoping for a happy reunion :black_heart:

Thank you. Nova ended up coming home the next morning around 430 5 o’clock not sure if she came sooner but now I know this is pretty normal. I’m not taking it personally but it’s just the fact that I have grown a bond with her and I do care about her. Now if this happens again I know to not worry

My friend is sending me prints of Luna pics we both took through the years. This one in particular struck me. From five years ago. Luna was largely blind the last months of her life -even though I hardly noticed it- and her pupils were always big and round. Here her beautiful eyes showed so well :cat: :mending_heart:

When I play guitar nova likes it and I think it calms her down. She likes music!! This is a major plus!!!
She is becoming my ride or die! My favorite Companion

I actually thought about that because I still let her go outside a decent amount of the time and I see her all over the place especially if I’m walking to the store or something I’ll see her in the most craziest places. She definitely goes on some adventures but that’s why I understand and relate to her because she likes being outside and exploring. She was a stray cat so I don’t want to deprive her of her outside time because honestly she’s more used to that than being inside but then again I think she’s getting used to the inside especially since she has so many toys and things to do here and this place is becoming comfortable for her. She mainly sleeps on my desk on her little bed but now she’s starting to sleep all kinds of places and this is becoming a comfortable place for her

Edit: She is getting the Zumiez right now out of nowhere! Literally just started and she’s playing this hide and seek type thing

It’s crazy how they can go from nodding out one minute to running around like a madman the next !!

I love it. I totally know what you mean about keeping her cooped up. Any cat that was an adult stray let come and go. I feel like they appreciate it. Orange cats have a whole special personality lol Sounds like she picked the perfect human :joy:

Haha yeah I’m out there.. I’m definitely not from this planet. Me and nova are definitely meant to be together. We both definitely have a lot of energy and prefer to be outside plus we have a complicated background and have been through some shit
