Go to the vet asap.
We just did this. Alice ended up with a bladder infection.
But she’s almost 16.

Sorry your dealing with that. They should be able to tell if there is a blockage or crystals or something through X-ray. Your doing the right thing by taking that pretty sweet girl right down. Good for you mom.
A blockage could be fatal.
I hope she’s ok.

We’re keeping an eye on her. She’s eating. A little. But she’s dainty. She seems comfortable and isn’t going in and out of the box. So that’s good. We have a follow up Sunday. And a culture coming back sometime this week. Thanks for asking.
What’s your babies name ?

I have just got back, Her name is Alou,
They have given us painkillers and given me a urine sample kit if she isnt better in a few days.
She is eating and drinking il keep a close eye on her to check if she is urinating, they checked her bladder and stuff and checked the pics i had of the blood, and said its fine and its most likely a cystitis.

Its horrible for us not knowing if they are in pain or not, as cats seem to not show if there in pain.

I feel at ease that she has been seen but still cant wrap my head around i havent seen her actually wee and to me seems she was struggling so if by tomorrow morning she stil hasnt il go back again. Id rather be hypochondriac and nuisance than just leave her.

Thanks for the update.
They gave you a urine sample kit?
Didn’t they take a urine sample? They took a urine sample from Alice. They probably used a needle to get it. We feed Alice and some of the others a canned urinary type food. The canned wet food is suppose to be better for them. There’s prescription type and non prescription type. At least there is over here in the states. It’s more prevalent in male cats. Definitely go all hypochondriac on her. It can be a serious issue with cats. It’s good she’s eating though. Sometimes it’s hard to tell if they are peeing. But if they are going in and out of the box that’s a signal. My wife said she saw Alice go in and out of the box ten times Sunday morning. I got right on the phone to my vet. They said bring her down as soon as you can. So your not being hypochondriac ish
It sounds like your all over it.
Give Alou a pet from me :kissing_cat:
And my wife.

It was a crappy day. Was at the vet all day with Rue. She’s okay now. Sleeping finally. Gus was feeling needy and me too. Kitty cuddles for healing

I glad she’s ok. Was it something unexpected or serious? No worries if you’re too tired to explain. It sounds exhausting. We did that Sunday.

Gus looks happy to be home and on your navy blue pants :relaxed: He’s so adorable :heart_eyes_cat:

Trigger warning: :poop:
She hadn’t gone to the bathroom in two days. Rue is a 75 pound dog and that’s very weird for her. She had eaten one of my socks. But not an ankle sock. An actual knee high sock- so a massive blockage. We were talking about surgery, it was clear she was in pain. I took her outside and walked her around the block. Eric she pooped out the entire sock. I had to help get it out of her with a plastic bag. We traumatized a young boy on a bike who unfortunately was an innocent witness. The sock eater is ok now. I still don’t understand how she swallowed an entire sock whole.
Gus is more of a lady then Ruby. I’m happy to be home too. Sick pets are a lot of stress. I’m thankful she didn’t need surgery.

OMG!! You get dog mom of the day award :1st_place_medal: it’s amazing what we are capable of when it’s our children or pets. Tell her no more socks!! I’m glad she’s ok. Wow!! Put your feet up with purring Gus. And don’t leave any socks around lying around

I already ordered a laundry basket with a lid on it. It will be here in 48 hours thanks to Jeff Bezos.
I honestly feel bad for the boy who watched it all go down. He was horrified. Ugh haha
Grateful Rue is ok.

Oh My Goodness @Callie99 and of course Rue!!! I am SO glad she is ok and sorry I am just seeing this! Hope she is 100% recovered! Do you think she wanted to be on Sober Sock Selfies?? I know you were too busy to take a pic… whew… It is like you were “pulling a calf”, that is helping a baby calf be born!

@Twizzlers hoping Alou is okay. Kitty and their bladders can be strange. A specialty vet once told me that if kitties get upset they can have blood come out. Stress.
My old vet used to get the urine sample w the sterile litter instead of a needle. Sounds like that could be what they sent you home with.
Hopefully not a ladle spoon and a bottle… I have done that with dogs before.
How is she? Hoping for best urine outcome!
