Wisdoms of some nowerdays prophets

Just heard a potcast of Dr. Anna Lembke, a psychiatrist, who does a lot of research in the field of addiction. She refered to people in longterm recovery of their addictive behaviors as the closest thing there is to modern prophets. Becouse successfull and long ongoing recovery leads to and needs a profund understanding of the human mind and its challanges in our addictive society that is so full of overconsumption everywhere. I liked that thought very much, since I learned so much in here. So if you feel like it, give me your top 3 or top 1 live advise or pieces of wisdom. That shit you would have prefered to know earlier. Or the things you woud want children to really understand someday.

Stop worrying about what you can’t control

•The past - Dwelling on it won’t change it. Accept it and move on.

•The future - Don’t live by “what ifs”. “What if something bad happens?” Yeah well, what if it doesn’t? You’re not a fortune teller.

•The thoughts of others - People can think whatever they want and there’s nothing you can do about it. Stay inside your own head.
