I have worked in 5 liquor stores in 10 years. Im 31 and it has been my life for that time period. I am now 10 days sober and quit my job a month and a half ago. I had to drop most of my so called ffriend I had made over the years. With working in the industy and my own problems it was a perfect storm for major alcoholism. Had anyone else been in this situation? Alcohol was my life for so long both job and regular life. I just haven’t meet anyone who has been in the biz and admits their problem. Any insight would be great. Thanks!!
Haha yep, worked in liquor stores for 5 years, bar for three. I’m still at the bar. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done to stop drinking.
Ya. I tried quiting drinking while still working in the store but i was the GM and buyer so with all the samples and endless supply of booze I had to quit to save myself. It really sucks I couldnt handle it cause it was a great payin job.
Yeah free bottles and discounts are too easy. Good on ya for quitting.
