The opposite of addiction is connection. You’re not alone. We can’t do it alone. We have to be in it together or nothing will come of it. Welcome back Alejandro. Let’s do this.

That’s a really good way of putting it. I heard from a clinical psychologist who did his PhD on the effects of alcohol that you can’t get rats addicted to cocaine when they’re embedded in a community, but when they’re pulled out they’ll go mad for it. Really worth thinking about.

Good luck Alejandro. I just had a day 0 so I’m freshly aware of that feeling as well. Get back in the ring bro!

Absolutely agree. By sharing you can understand that you are not some anomaly, that others have the same fears, make the same mistakes, feel the same feelings. Or similar enough that we can relate. :purple_heart:

Yes, moving forward in life and growing will leave people behind.

Patients, people will come, or head to a meeting.

But, in addiction most of those people where there because of there own addiction.

I know it sucks at the beginning and boring, but it gets better. To break away from the chains.

Give it more time, this time.

But, head to a meeting, get around people who value the life you want, and watch it grow.

Watch it become meaningful.

As for lonliness, well that’s being a male in brokeness. It sucks, but, keep pushing forward.

But, people are out there, just have to go for it.

Maybe the way you stay connected when you’re alone is doing something for someone else for the duration of that time, then you’re connected in your actions with respect to the future and you’re too busy to do something bad

Eleven of the twelve steps start with “we”, so maybe get to a NA/AA meeting and get connected.
