Mr. @Dazercat Thank you for checking on me =) It is appreciated. I had to step away the forum for a minute because I saw that it was becoming a distraction as I had made a BIG decision to chase a dream of mine that I gave up when I started using. I have started attending school full time, working part time, applying for an internship and taking care of my grandparents who are packing for their trip up to heaven. They are still with us, but they are slowly coming to that end.
I hope you and all are doing well and making it through the days as they keep showing up haha I miss the meme thread to no end. Thankfully, I have hundreds to look back on as I’ve saved sooooooo many!
I also hope you are staying healthy, hydrated and cool. I’ll do my best to check in from time to time =) Miss ya, boo
Chase that dream buddy! You can do it when you’re sober. That’s for sure. You deserve it. Sorry about your grandparents. It’s great you can be there for them. I’m glad to hear you’re well. I’ve been missing my biggest fan
Thank you. I am here. Not really loving NY. I don’t know… maybe it’s like they say you can not really go home. It’s nice as a vacation… but everything has changed so much.
Well when you decide that your sobriety is more important than a night on the town your actions will match your understandings. It takes what it takes sometimes.
People have tried it for 20 years if not longer. Never worked. The longer they try the more miserable they become. I did it for a couple of years. Got to the point that I was going to kill myself. Like I said it takes what it takes.
You can always ask them in the meetings. I’m sure they would love to discuss it. I go to a Monday/Wednesday meeting where I am one of two females in a group of 15 men. I’m the youngest by 20 years. It’s my favorite meeting of the week. You had two years of sobriety, so think back to what you did then. There are tons of AA and other sobriety groups out there. You can do this, just have to want it. Life is SO much better sober.
So sorry about that, buddy. I do The Luckiest Club online meetings and I know SMART Recovery has worked well for others. Rooting for you, and glad you are here!
