My name is Jon-Paul and my sobriety date is 7-30-2018. That includes alcohol and any drugs…Its all the same for me. So basically my drug of choice is MORE. More of whatever is placed in front of me to escape reality. My bottle was my portable vacation that took me away to wherever I wanted to go and to be whatever I wanted to be. My addiction has brought about many lows in my life…even to sleeping outside homeless, panhandling, bathing in rivers for months at a time. I’m not proud it. I’m more than just my addiction. I have years of experience in 12 step recovery groups…have had a taste of years of sobriety before as well. So I know what it feels like and I love that sober life. But I do struggle bad from time to time. So that is why I’m here. I need the people in here to help add another support system to to my arsenal against addiction. I hope I can help others as well. I have a strong passion for life and getting and staying healthy. I’m a parent as well so I am not only doing this for myself…but for my son too.
