I’m so excited to be 23 days alcohol free, but I’m worried that once I go on vacation with my husband I’ll relapse. Not because of him because he is very supportive, but for me. Any advice?
@Oliverjava is spot on. What we think about becomes reality (good or bad) so make it positive. @Lovely_Lyn06 No one said it was going to be easy, but it is worth it. Every time we pass a test and do the next right thing, we get stronger.
Back on the wagon 9 days and counting.
Hi @Lovely_Lyn06 and welcome to the forum.
It’s good that you’re “worried” but instead of passive worry, turn it into active steps to be prepared for the vacation. What NA drinks can you enjoy instead of alcohol? How to handle cravings with keeping busy and other distractions? Focus on the wonderful vacation itself - alcohol is NOT a vacation, it is a depressant and only dulls the experience. Live in each moment of it. And have fun!
