I am having trouble keeping mine up today, so looking to you all for motivation…what are your rituals and routines you won’t miss in a day?
Morning: 6am
*Drag my ass to the coffee pot and pour myself some “wakey wakey” brew
*Sit quietly for a few minutes
*Pray, meditate, read recovery devotionals
*Hot shower and prepare for the day
*Vitamins and a light breakfast
*Catch up on the forum
Afternoon:
*Lots of water and a healthy lunch and snack at work
*3 minute breaks to silence my mind/breathing exercise =destress
*AA meeting
*Text my sober sisters
Evening:
*AA meeting (if I missed the noon one or I feel I need an extra)
*Read recovery books
*Add stuff to my sobriety journal (quotes, inspiration, etc)
*Dinner at home with my husband
*Catch up with my sober sisters
*The forum
Weekend:
*Work on art
*Spend time with loved ones
*Relax, read, take a walk
- Morning weigh-in
- Shower and shave first thing in the morning, or in the evening
- Take my daily vitamins & supplements. (Use a daily AM/PM pill organizer)
- Track my calories (I target 1700-1800 daily)
- Walk or bike for 20-30 minutes at some point
- Block off at least 3-4 hours for productive job-search / skill-building activities, try for more
- Stay connected with family, and reach out to one other person daily
- Spend time on the forum (but not too much!)
- Read recovery-related book or other resource for 20-30 minutes
- Attend at least two AA meetings per week
- Aim for 6-8 hours sleep
I’d love to have a routine! Right I’m joining the gym damn it!
I could just copy and paste @Melrm morning routine! I’m day 20 today, and loving it. I am finding I’m sometimes feeling flat/bored. So I’ve just got into the habit of ‘zipping up my boots’ and getting out of the house, just going for a walk helps. Also I’m not working so currently updating CV and browsing for jobs daily
I begin every morning with the Serenity prayer, then I get my coffee and read some Bible verses. Then I read some AA daily readings.
