Hello out there, I’ve been drinking and doing cocaine for 20+ years. It was mostly weekend binge drinking and drugging… I’d make it to work Monday and by Wednesday, I’d be tying one on!! I’d go to work hungover and always looked forward to Friday so I can have a drink!!! Well today my partner and I have made it to the double digits. We went for a walk tonight and he admitted this is his first time in 20 years being sober for 10 days straight!! I noticed just from these 10 days, that I’m more involved with my family, my house is clean, and I’m better at my job. I noticed that my partner and I’s relationship has become stronger. We argued a lot when we drank and everything was a mess!! I’m praying we could do this and I’m praying that we could get through it together!! Day 10… it doesn’t seem like much, but to us it does!

Totally feel that. Looking at myself thru my sober eyes now, how the hell did I do that??? How could I make it thru every day with a hangover, only to do it to myself all again each nite? Addiction is hard work! New sobriety is our best friend.

That is really amazing. I never had the privilege of getting clean with any of the partners that I had used with. I wish I had though, it sounds like a really wonderful experience for you both, overall. You are lucky that you have someone who is willing to go through that with you. <3
