My name is Natalie and I am a alcoholic. I had been drinking for the past 4 years. At home it would be a bottle of red wine a night and when I frequented bars it would be double rum and cokes proseccos and shots. I have never felt drunk before only tipsy. But the last year I felt neither I would not admit that I was an alcoholic but someone who drank for RELAXATION. A friend of mine dragged me into the drugs and alcohol centre in September and from many meetings I quit on my own accord on October 5th. It was dangerous but I did it. ELEVEN WEEKS SOBER I have been to pubs and bars and stuck to mocktails and alcohol free koppaberg. It is still a struggle especially as the festive season is approaching. But I know I have to beat this so I go to regular AA meetings. These are very encouraging and I meet great people and listen to some powerful stories.
