14 days alcohol-free

I’m 14 days sober. This is the longest I have gone without drinking since I started 10 years. It started to control my life, my work, my relationship and my overall health. I knew for a long time that it just wasn’t right for me and I almost lost everything I’ve worked for. Sure, i have cravings, every day and i know that I’m still in the early stages of many more to come but i sleep better, my hair and skin looking shinier and healthier, and I’ve dropped weight. I wake up feeling refreshed. What I have found easiest is to keep busy, try not to be alone or in an atmosphere where it will trigger. The confidence and self worth level is a much better high!

When I have a craving for that drink at the end of a stressful/or good day! I usually will go to the gym, walk around the block or go grocery shopping. Avoiding coming straight home when I have a craving has seemed to work for me.

Congrats on 14 days. Be proud of yourself.
Best wishes :pray:

After work beers we’re my thing too. I’m on day 13 sober and I have found that if I tell myself I’m going to go home and workout FIRST then I don’t ever go back to town. This has worked. I don’t have those cravings after work so much any more. But I sure am today with the beautiful bbq type weather happening…

Congratulations!!! :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:
