1st step, New

Today is the first day I decided to quit alcohol. Started abusing when my physical health got worse. I fear sometimes of going overboard. I fight the urges but fear of giving in. I get these strong urges sometimes. Grew up in a toxic/abusive household and recently had to move back in. Looking to connect with more positive and empowering people who have overcame this struggle or working on it to better themselves. I have absolutely no one positive in my life other than my therapist. I’m Krystal Ann btw. Nice to meet all of you, I wish you all the best and happy for those who has come such a long way :pray:t3::heart:.

Hi Krystal welcome and congrats on your first day. I actually am in the same boat as you. Mother is a good woman, but has built me up alot through life and torn me down. My life was a mess, my therapist has tought me alot on how to deal with her. Just go with the flow for now, I know it may not seem ideal, but we’re here to support you. Don’t worry about anyone but yourself right now. I’m sure you’re therapist will be able to lead you in the right direction. things will only keep getting better for you, just surrender and want it bad and you will succeed, I never thought I’d make it 74 days but here I am. Keep checking in daily and don’t be afraid to let some things out it can help you heal

Thank you so much. And wow so happy for you. I’m sorry to hear that but glad you are doing better and found ways to deal with it. Trying to find ways myself for it’s extremely toxic which triggers me sometimes. Glad to be part of this and thank you again for sharing and your advice.
