I will be working, my 5 kids and fiance will be out celebrating
We sort of celebrated early. Hubby and I took our son to a wheelchair accessible trick or treating event last weekend. It was soo much fun. Nice to see him be able to participate in the holiday. On Oct 31, I think we will just relax and enjoy the night as a family. Dont think we will do too much then.
Recovering from surgery the day before and hoping i feel good enough to get out and go see my girls dressed up for a bit. Thinking i should do a Frankenstein costume because ill have a pretty mean scar. But my 3 year old may not like it so much
Surgery i hope u are ok
Sweet blessings
Thanks. I’m ok. Fairly routine thing i guess and will help determine next steps. Through i do need to learn to admit that i am nervous about it and have felt a need to hide that and carry the world on my shoulders and that is part of my struggles. Trying to make changes and be sober has helped me realize that and im learning how to express these kind of things
Well said my friend i will keep u n urs in my prayers forsure , i hope we all hear from u after to see how ur doing

Halloween for me as a child in rural Ireland was a plastic mask, my dad’s shirt, going trick or treating with my brother (and my sister , although she is a few years older and I don’t actually remember the years where she went trick or treating) to the houses down the lane. This was when we were very young. There wasn’t many houses on the lane but some how we got loads of sweets and money (or what we considered loads anyway). Coming home and going through it all and trading with each other then sitting up at the fire and eating it
It was such a simple time yet we got so much joy from it.
Where is @Runningfree - she always has a dynamite costume!
I haven’t done Halloween much as an adult I confess but as a child I enjoyed it. My mom always had costumes prepped for me - I was lucky to have her on my wardrobe team!
Where I come from - Eastern Europe - Halloween has never been a thing. There is a very old tradition for the same time of the year called ‘Dziady’ or ‘Zaduszki’ which is about ancestor commemoration, connection and celebration.
Nowadays Halloween is a cultural phenomenon that has come from the US to us as well.
My daughter loves trick-or-treating, creating a costume and celebrating all things spooky with her friends. This year she even carved her first pumpkin.
I shall share a picture in a bit. I don’t go to work for a few more hours so I haven’t put my costume on
