A community is one of the greatest helps in sobriety, but it can be hard to talk to people when you don’t know anyone. In this topic new folks, returning folks, regulars and everyone else can introduce themselves to make it easier to talk with each other.

My name’s Jan (21m) and my DOC is dopamine. It started with just gaming, but it has evolved to food, doom scrolling, spending money, tv, pretty much anything that gives me dopamine. Two years ago I relapsed after 3 years of gaming abstinence. Now I’m back, trying to abstain from the majority of technology.

I’m a recovered alcoholic, my name is Dan.
From Vermont USA, by way of Ohio, Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.
In 74 days, I will mark 20 years sober after a 35 year drinking career. I am nicotine free 17 years in another 24 days.
I got this way because I drank too much too often and got into way too much trouble. By grace, and with human help all along the way, chiefly AA and Talking Sober, I will not be compelled to drink again unless I choose that first drink.

I’m Amy (well, that’s my TS name) and I’ve been on and off this forum, driving our lovely mods crazy for the the past six years. Just over two years ago, I woke in a panic after a night out drinking.
