3 Days in Really Sleepy even with Caffeine

Is that normal? I drink a Ghost energy drink with 200MG’s of caffeine and I’m still exhausted. Is that normal in the first few days?

Hello, if it’s alcohol you’re withdrawing from, then i found that i was tired and had high sugar cravings and energy drinks did nothing but give me palpatations. I didn’t realise how much sugar was in wine, so from that aspect yes it could be a normal, while your body readjusts, but it’s worth going to the GP to get checked over incase there is a medical reason behind it - such as a deficiency

totally normal my friend - your body is going through much cleaning and that in itself is tiring. you will feel a lot of fatigue - if possible, try to sleep a little extra as our bodies do the bulk of the healing while we sleep.
do not worry - the fatigue does not last. Great job on you sober days

When I quit, I pretty much stayed in bed for the first week, I didn’t have the will nor energy to do anything. During that time, I began to question my motives, and by day 6, I remember turning a corner and felt like I could do it! I’m glad I stuck with it.

The first week is brutal. Drink lots of water, take it easy, get plenty of rest. Better days are right around the corner!

Thank you so much! I was wondering why I was so tired. It just feels so different. I’ll be happy once my body adjusts again to being sober.

Thank you so much. I’m trying to rest but it’s tricky, I just started a new job, I’m in school full time, married, have a puppy, and I’m a personal trainer :disappointed_relieved:. I’m just trying to ride it out.

Yes!! It took me months for my body to create its own energy and after almost 5 months i still sleep A LOT!!
I try to set a good sleeping routine and i go to bed early even when I dont have the kids! Dont give up, listen to your body, its a lot of changes for it so take care of it by sleeping, eating well and positive selftalk.
You got this!!
