3 weeks without alcohol. I feel proud, I was never a daily drinker or a big drinker just when i went out I’d drink stupid amounts and wake up feeling like my chest was gonna cave in from the anxiety. I don’t miss that feeling and I certainly don’t miss the hangovers or the taste of alcohol .
Excellent work! We quit at the same time. See you at the one month milestone
Three weeks without alcohol is a great accomplishment, now start shooting for multiples… 2 X 3 weeks, 3 X 3 weeks, etc. Pretty soon, you’ll be into triple digits (I’m looking forward to that too).
In my case, I was never a heavy drinker, but I was a much too regular drinker. The end-result is the same, too much booze.
Anyway, keep going ! You’re doing a great job.
I personally suggest that you read the anti-alcohol book by Alan Carr… I got it on Amazon Kindle for under 6 EUR, so no great expense. It really helped me, and it provides a different approach for those people (like me) for whom AA isn’t the answer.
Way to go!

Thank you for your advice. Much appreciated
Try to check in on this site on a fairly regular basis… I find it to be helpful, kind of like a big support network !
This is also my 3rd week sober. Trying my best not to go backwards this time around. I’m going to meetings and surrounding myself around sober and positive people this time. I will do my best also to check in hers every day.
It’s my first time posting on this forum. Always reading but never responded before…thanks
Congrats! I’m at 16 Days alcohol free. I found that I’m experience cravings more now than I did in the beginning. Especially on weekends. Not physical cravings but mental ones. ‘Ahhh it’s the weekend id love a drink’ for example. Or that I associate fun with alcohol. Working on retraining my brain to have fun without it and trying to build new habits. Ready for those mental cravings to die down a bit tho. Keep it up!
I relate 100% and hit my 3 weeks at the same time! Feeling great, more positive and I’ve noticed some physical changes as well! Let’s all keep it up!
I used to get cravings at the start I still do now. I even have dreams about drinking and being really drunk they seem so real that I wake up disappointed in myself but at least it’s only a dream.
Congratulations
3 weeks here. Longest I’ve been sober (from drinking) since I started 7 years ago. I came here looking for people in my shoes. You said all the positives of not drinking so far and I truly needed that reminder. No more anxiety filled hangovers!
Hi pal and welcome!! You are right too. Nobody ever wakes up regretting that they aren’t hung over. Or regretting that they didn’t make a fool of themselves. We could increase that list forever:)
@ButImABartender I totally feel you on that note. Getting sober and going to meeting I have realized that we all are the same. Might have different backgrounds or different shades of color but we all still hurt and go through the same effects when it comes to using and abusing. Welcome and glad your here!
Awesome!
I’m on day 4 (AGAIN)
