I have reached a mile stone.
I have cleared a load of debt.
I still get stressed but not as bad.
I still over think.
I still get anxious but not as often.
I am joining the gym within next two weeks.
I smoke too much.
I make more of an effort at home.
I am kinder.
I am on my way to 90 days sober.
Big HUGE milestone
Clearing away the wreckage is good
Stopping drinking is the beginning
Re-wiring you’re thinking is when recovery lasts
Exercise is a Godsend for the body/mind
One thing at a time
I applaud your efforts at home
I can tell
Yes, you are!
Exercise is a Godsend for the body/mind
Spot on. Stopping drinking is a long process. I think you know for a while you have a problem but ignore it. You don’t just wake up one day then stop drinking forever. It requires a change in lifestyle, like you say a rewiring of the brain to gain pleasure and reward in other activities. There’s nothing like working out and exercise for that. When you stop drinking you need to feel good, healthy. Eat well, exercise, feel the endorphins, look better. It’s such a great morale boost.
