Made it through a wedding week as a bridesmaid for my SIL, a wedding with lots of free drinks laying around. I got to dance with my 2 y/o and 4 y/o, and help out my sis. It was weird to socialize without drinking, but refreshing to not be an embarrassment, or hungover in the morning. My husband and I even toasted with some martinelli’s.
Well done, be proud of yourself
Congratulations on your 30 days!! It gets less weird as time goes on. Especially once we are able to see drinking for what it really is…a time and life suck that takes and only offers the illusion of anything positive.
A big congrats to you! 1 month sober and a sober wedding milestone
this is huge! Keep up the amazing work - sober living is worth fighting for

Going to a even like this then become 30days alcohol free , right after isnt a small accomplishment. This accomplishment is very impressive and shows emotional strenghth and power of your mind. This , even if you didnt noticed , challenged your human instincts with your spiritual (whichever it may or even may not be) light within your heart that keeps your goals safe with you.
I dont know you. But damn .. i am proud of human when i read your post and saw your pictures.
Life sucks sometimes weather we deserve it or not. Why would i do something i think is going to put my own “ok” life at risk. I guess as a addict alcoholic personality i gained through my life and even given to me at birth, i would choose to go 100% until it clicks that “maybe this isnt a good idea” at that last second to life changing terrible choice i make. Its like a left or right turn when we are walking where we can actually predict where each turn can lead but we question it because we dont want to face the fact.
Congratulations on 30 days!!! You are actually doing this
I want to let you know that it does not always feel weird. I dare say most of us have gone through the same thing. I know I did. Good work, staying sober and just know that it gets a bit easier every time you work those sober muscles in a social setting. So happy for your success.
