6 hours clean and sober

Had another big wobble yesterday, had this sobriety app for a while and never used it. Thankfully that starts today, yesterday i went out to watch a football match fully saying to myself ill have a couple drinks then leads into other substances, next think its 6 in the morning once again and the shame an guilt has eating me alive all day, my friends who i have grew up with and love dont have a problem with drinking yet they would continue to ask me to go out. Breaking that circle is a must for me but difficult as they are my friends but i cant do this anymore. I dont wanna be in pain

Hey David, sorry to hear about ur relapse. Sounds like u have somewhat of an idea of what to do next tho. I too had to distance myself from using and drinking “friends”. I had to make it incredibly hard for me to use. Keep checking in on this forum, especially during a craving :slight_smile: you got this!

Hey! Thank you so much for the comment i really appreciate it, 100% need to distance myself. If not it just leads right into anarchy. Hope youre well.

I was told I only had to change one thing if I want to stay sober and that was everything. Remove things in your life now and when you are strong enough further down the road allow back in your life the things that only benefit your sobriety and life.
One day you will realise there is no outside solution for an inside problem.

The first drink is the most important for sure. Keep away from that and the second and third are impossible to take. :purple_heart:

I know it can be lonely, but avoiding certain people and situations has really saved me from slipping back into a lifestyle that was destroying me.
When we lower or break our boundaries, we abandon ourselves.
Stick to your boundaries. :clap::black_heart:
