Not selfish at all. You deserve praise for your accomplishments. I know my family loves me and is supportive of my journey but they really don’t understand the importance of milestones or how hard the struggle really is. That’s why I rely on this community for its support and praise.

Congratulations- this is huge!!! Echoing what others have said on this thread - it can be hard to understand something so complicated when they’ve never experienced the struggle themselves; their support and encouragement isn’t lessened, but as @IShell noted - their enthusiasm isn’t matching our expectations (hence our disappointment).
