...60 days sober

New to this forum. But decided to give this a try along with my other other outlets suchas AA, therapy, and classes. I am an 18 year long alcoholic/addict and I am almost 30. (Thank God, 20s were a ride I’m ready to get off.)
I’m a cronic relapser but never have i gave up fighting for survival. Which is also a reason I drank…just trying to survive life. Alcoholism has graced my family for generations. Along with mental health problems.
But I do believe in recovery and I do believe I can.

Don’t give up fighting.

congratulations on your sober days, it’s the difference between success and failure that belief. I failed hundreds of times but I knew deep down I had it in me to succeed one day, just for today we are winning. Wish you well on your journey. :+1:

Im just realizing it will be a lifelong battle. I’ve been saying for 5 years now I want to quit drinking but have yet to go longer than 3 months. I recently asked myself what if I can’t quit drinking? Never felt so helpless in my life but it’s nice to read posts like yours that give me hope. Thanks!

Congratulations my friend, If you don’t fail you are not even trying, Win and failure are part recovery When new things are tried chances of failure are also there.
keep your focus on the the reason that made you wanna quit and keep fighting.

I keep hearing so many stories similar to mine. I keep getting inspired and reminded that life is better without alcohol and that we can choose that path. It is possible and this place can help
