60 days sober

I just realized today is 60 days sober from alcohol. Woah
Okay so this is what I have done the past month.
Went to a wedding sober.
Told close friends I stopped drinking.
Got a personal trainer and started working out again
Bought a coloring book for adults
Bought tickets for a football game for my husband so we can have a blast, sober
Said no to two bar invites.
Took our new bikes down to the beach and rode along the coast then ate breakfast
Got all our legal papers organized

This next 30 days will be a challenge.My husband and I will find out the results of a test that will change our lives forever.I know that staying sober through all of this is the smartest thing I can do.I need to be able to cope without it being fogged by alcohol. My next goal is 90 days.My initial goal has always been 100 days ever since I read a blog about a woman who tried out 100 days did 100 more and then stayed sober because she fell in love with it.In my mind it’s easier to break things up into portions, so 90 will do for now.

Thats awesome!!!..Keep it up…I will have 60 days on Monday and it feels great…this has been quite an experience for me…not at all what i expected it to be…staying open-minded is key for me and it seems to be easier to stay that way each day…i really do learn something new everyday in sobriety…again, keep it up and Congratulations…

@Michael That’s awesome, yeah It’s definitely an interesting journey.I feel like I have drinking nightmares alot .Yet when I wake up and realize it was just a dream I am so relieved and continue what I’m doing cause it seems to be working. Congrats on how far you’ve come as well it’s such a good feeling.

I hada dream like a week or so ago about smoking crack and im in a halfway house…i woke up thinking i really screwed up and was gonna get kicked out…took me a bit to realize it was a dream…the crazy thing is i havent smoked that in years…i was so glad it was just a dream…

@Michael aww im sorry.Not a good feeling feeling out of control is a scary way to live. Every day we choose sobriety we get to feel more in control of what we do every day.

It is getting better…when i first started my sober journey i was having euphoric recall everyday and i hated it…didnt matter what i was doing, that took over…i didnt understand what it was til i explained it to someone else…dont know why it went away either but i sure am glad it has subsided for now…

@Michael what is a euphoric recall?lol

Euphoric recall is when you are not actually doing the drug but your mind remembers what it was like and gives you that same feeling for just a very short time…its your mind recalling the way the substance made you feel…its most common with I.V. drug users…
