First post!! Im greatful to my new found sober family through the narcotics anonymous program and specifically my home group named “blues breakers” here in the mile high city!!! Also the red rocks treatment facility. As both saved my life after 23 years of first smoking weed everyday, drinking until i moved here in 2012 and then replacing that with little white lines!!! I DONT CARE if this post gets flagged for saying my d.o.c.'s as it is my journey to recovery…ive made dramatically drastic changes in these 5 months and without these to programs i only had 3 options…jails, institutions or death!!! FUCK THAT! I instead chose a new way to live…OH FUCK YEA, and now have the choice of where my life is going, im moving into my first place of my own, on my own in 2 weeks, can finally start the process of getting my license back, and hell maybe even go back to school and work in recovery to give as many other addicts like me hope, strength, experience and the courage to walk through the doors of treatment and meetings and help people which i never envisioned when i was a kid before my disease of addiction…if i can help one person then all this work im doing will have paid off in spades over and over again!
