Yesterday was 90 whole days and the crazy thing is I’m so oddly adjusted to being sober that I didn’t even realize it until now. The pride I have realizing I’m flourishing, choosing to say no, and standing on that every single day is incredible. The first 30-45 days was a nightmare and was so hard. The longer I go the less I’m willing to see that number drop back to zero, and the less I ever want to feel inebriated at the hands of alcohol. I was scared, confused on what to do with my free time, and didn’t believe I had the capability to make it this far. 90 days ago this felt like the biggest challenge of my life and for awhile that was true. I still have the thought of a mixed drink or a beer sometimes but telling myself no has become undeniably easier. If you’re just starting out in you’re recovery from alcohol I can say it’s hard but it’s achievable and so worth living life in a sober state of mind!

Sounds like a lot of positive activities! Nature and pets can really nurture the soul.
Something to be aware of is “the wall” in early recovery. I hit it hard and it was a struggle to surpass without falling back into old behavioral patterns. There is a lot of good information about this stage and others online!
