Hi everyone and i hope your all doing well ,im a month sober today and im doing great ,ive stopped letting myself from entertaining those thoughts of just one and how it will be only one or one night ,i still get fleeting thoughts, dreams ,but i have accepted that if i open the door just even a little bit everything ive worked towards will be lost and i will be back to the beginning yet again ,and i dont want that anymore ,im feeling good im feeling determined, ive got this i want sobriety more than anything its took up so many years of my life i want freedom peace to stop this inner battle with myself

If i could love this thread a million times over it still wouldnt be enough!! Im so happy for you Maggie u so deserve a happy sober life! I love your attitude, keep that…its not always easy to stay sober Maggie but lifes not always easy regardless so lets stay sober and not make it harder for ourselves…as you go along youl start seeing more and more little gifts that sobriety brings you…sometimes in the most unexpected ways…watch for those because theyl keep your decision to stay sober strong…nothing in this world is worth drinking over you can always find another way, i do hope youl stay on here with us still though xx

Congratulations! When you get some time away from your drug of choice, which was alcohol, often times you’re able to be so happy about it and so grateful. It’s good to see you in that place. It’s a freedom that you don’t know until you have it. Huge congrats!

You’re right - there is no such thing as “just 1 drink” - good that you recognize that. I’m 1 year tomorrow and I can say it just keeps getting better. Great job!
