Hi! I became an alcoholic after having bariatric surgery and would LOVE to learn of any online AA meetings for those who have had weight loss surgery and then became alcoholic.
I have been sober since 2016 .

Hi Jill! Welcome!! There are a handful of us here in the same boat 
I am in a Facebook group called Alcoholism After Gastric Bypass with over 800 members. We were doing an AA meeting every Sunday morning but our host had to stop due to family circumstances. I’m not sure if they will be starting up again in the future. However, you can just join the group of you’d like. It’s very unfortunate with so many of our circumstances because we have such a hard time accepting the addiction, which wasn’t the case beforehand. How far are you post-op?

Thank you for the information! Do you think someone else might take over to lead the AA meeting? I would be happy to do so, if it’s possible. If someone could help me with the logistics, etc, of setting up the zoom.
I had my surgery in 2009…worst decision of my life.

If this type of meeting exists, I really would like information about it. I’m 3 days sober, and if I’m not drinking, I’m eating. I just keep chasing oblivion one way or another. I’m up 50 pounds from my low in only 6 months. Terrified of failure and need fellows. I sent a request to join the facebook group and am grateful you mentioned it. Thanks!
