This one hit home. Like any self-respecting millenial, I grew up watching her in Buffy and Gossip Girl. She was also in a silly teen flick called EuroTrip, which I’ve seen like a million times and it partly inspired my current travelling lifestyle.
Michelle was a huge part of my formative years and seeing her go so young due to alcoholism… fuck, man. Addiction is cruel. Addiction doesn’t care who you are or the impact you’ve had on an entire generation. Addiction works slowly, but make no mistake… sooner or later, it can claim you for good.
That’s what I read too. But she needed the liver transplant due to alcoholism… So that’s what I based my post on. It’s unclear if the complications were because she was drinking again or not. It doesn’t really matter.
To be fair, she’s been more or less out of the public eye for years. There were always rumours about her drinking problem and she was a child star so it kinda made sense. But… I don’t know. She never came out and confirmed what her health issues were, so it’s possible it wasn’t drinking. It’s just horrible seeing someone so young go like this.
She was so talented and such a huge part of so many people’s formative years… It’s just sad.
