Hi everyone..
I am currently a hour in to quitting smoking cannabis.
Can someone tell me if keeping occupied will help or will it make me worse??
Hope everyone is ok

Glad you are here Leanne! This is a great place to find support and resources for overcoming addiction!
In my experience staying busy was helpful at times! Healthy distractions like art, reading and exercise were particularly helpful for me! But on the other side of that same coin, sometimes some decompression time outside while taking deep breathes of fresh air and doing essentially nothing was a really useful tool. I guess you could call it meditation, just unscripted.
I’m going to include a link to a website that goes over cannabis withdrawl symptoms, the timeline of cannabis withdrawal, as well as some treatment options!

Like I said before, I’m glad you’re here and reaching out for support. Definitely steps in the right direction! Remember you aren’t alone in this struggle, even when it feels like you are. Plenty of people here have had similar experiences who have been able to overcome those urges and cravings in order to live a sober life, me included. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if need be! ![]()

I don’t have any good advice on cannabis withdrawal (and @Alexh666 had lots of good advice!), I just want to say we’re glad you’re here and glad you want to take better care of yourself. This place has been a huge help to me, and I hope you stick around!
Mate I use to smoke weed and drink a lye of alcohol a day , it’s hard a first but the cravings go .
