Alchohol Abuse

Hi, I have been drinking on a regular basis since I was 17 years old. I am now 59 and have been completely sober since the 15th of September 2022. Heading towards 11 months 100% alchohal free. I just decided one day that my liver and kidneys need a break from all the alchohol abuse and made my mind up that enough was enough. Fortunately I am a musician and play Ukulele, guitar and piano. So I got myself a piano teacher and focused on that to keep me sober. I have been out for meals with friends to the local pubs etc. and don’t ever feel tempted to buy alchohol now. I usually have tea, coffee or Coca-Cola. The amount of money I have saved since becoming sober is shocking to me. I never realised how much i just blew away on booze. I now try to eat healthy and take vitamin supplements too. I have full time employment so I get some exercise too which also helps. I feel great and am loving my sober life. Here’s wishing you all out there that have just started out on your sober/ clean journey all the best in your new and happier and healthier life. If I can do it, so can you.

Love life and live clean.

Hi Mike, welcome! :raising_hand_woman:
This is a great community to be a part of.
It helps me to keep myself focussed on living sober instead of drinking.
Having my 5 year milestone in semptember so we both have our sober party then
