Today it’s been 3 days since I have had a session (binge) of cocaine and alcohol I’m staying strong
Welcome to the forum. Do you have a support system to help or are you doing this solo, white knuckling it?
I’m feeling good tbh I beat the urge
I’m not getting any help I’m doing this myself
As much as we say we can do it ourselves it’s nice to know there is a backup plan if and when that urge to use will occur (it usually does). It’s okay to ask for help, that’s a big step. There’s a large difference between getting clean and staying sober. Remember that.
You’re not alone if you let us help you along the way. There are many different paths that lead to recovery, you just need to figure out which is best for you. Have you considered AA/NA? That is where my journey got easier. I suggest you try going to one. Introduce yourself as a newcomer and you’ll get the names and phone numbers of others wanting to help. There’s Refuge Recovery and SMART recovery. Take a look at them. If you’re not ready to interact with fellow alcoholics/addicts, read the posts here. Ask questions, let us help you. Whenever you have cravings, air it out here. NEVER CRAVE ALONE. Let us help guide you and help you with your recovery.
Its wonderful that your beating urges but your gonna need more of a plan to stay clean then fighting urges the whole time. I hope you have more of a plan to your recovery. Life alone can be very hard sober or very rewarding. Your life will never be at its full potential if you give up. Instead accept the new life and embrace it…
Thanks, I’m going to beat it this time
What the people above mean is a sober plan. Not sit the urge trough. You might win a few but eventually you probably wouldn’t make it without a back up plan.
I’m addicted to alcohol. This app is my program and the plan below is how I stay sober:
- No alcohol in my house
- Refrigerator filled with nice food and alc. free drinks
- Telling my spouse about my sober plan
- Avoid alcohol related activities and friends (at least in the beginning)
- Having a day counter
- Avoid wine/beer section in the supermarket and avoid liquor store
- Taking a strong vitamine B complex
- Taking melatonin to help me sleep
- Be gentle to myself, like go to bed early, taking a long bath, etc.
- Doing relaxing activaties like meditate, yoga, walking, etc.
- When I have cravings: I don’t pick up that first one but I walk, run, work out, eat chocolat, watch Netflix, clean, study, whatever.
- Ask for help when I need it.
- Be here every day to read and check in sober.
Maybe you see something wich can be usefull for you too.

Day 5, the cloud is finally clearing.

Just taking one step at a time, one situation at a time.
And going to mtgs.
Welcome @Geno69. Congratulations on day five. I would suggest posting things like this on the checking in daily thread as you will be speaking to a wider audience and share your journey and experiences with other people and you may see somebody with an issue you have a bit of insight in to and be able to offer words of support. It’s just a suggestion of course. I hope your ok dude
